If you've not yet purchased your copy of "Beast"; you are missing out BIG time! All I can say is that as always Kathryn has NOT let us down! This is another of those books that yesterday, when I woke up, I turned over, grabbed my copy and began reading again. At 12:30 pm, I finally finished it; and immediately was sorry I was done! I simply couldn't put it down until I finished it. I often find that is the case with Kathryn's books though and anymore I don't even read the little blurb on Amazon that explains the story-line. I just know her stories are always great!

Beast (Audible Audio Edition) Kathryn Le Veque Brad Wills Kathryn Le Veque Novels Books Reviews

This was one of the best books I have read by this author. I read the first one because the author's name sounded French to me and it reminded me of my mom. I have since read numerous books by Mrs Le Veque simply because her books are interesting, informative and once I start I just can't put them down.

I definitely highly recommend.

simply because
This is another great book from KLV. I loved the plot line and the story behind it. Joan of Arc was a fascinating women and i loved that KLV brought in some of the history and information about this lady. The connection between the H and Joan of Arc was well done and I could feel the struggle the H was going through. He was torn with remaining loyal to his country and showing compassion to the enemy. The relationship between the H and h also develops at a nice pace as two people who are thrown together and must learn to communicate, like, and even love each other. Their love develops slowly and at a nice pace. I also loved the relationship the H had with his father.
This was an amazing story! I loved reading this tale of Sir Bastien de Russe and the awful task he has been given as that of the jailer of Joan of Arc. I was pulled into the story by the intrigue and politics of the day, and the internal conflict de Russe felt as her jailer. While he feels loyalty to his beloved England, he has a strange friendship with and empathy for Joan, who has fought unsuccessfully for France to be free of England's rule. These feelings developed as a result of the time he spends as her guard. He not only is assigned to prevent her escape, but he must escort her to her death on the pyre. Prior to her death he makes her a promise he feels compelled to keep, despite the rumors spread by others about the nature of their relationship.
After Joan's death, de Russe is given a bride for his service to his king, Lady Gisella le Bec, a bride he does not want, but he has no choice but to accept. Despite the fact that neither wish to marry, they fall in love and endure ploys to keep de Russe from keeping his promise, and intrigue that could result in the loss of their lives.
I really enjoyed this plot, the characters, and the nature of the conflict itself. What a terrific story!!
I so enjoy reading any novel Kathryn Le Veque writes, but Beast for me is the best. A story of Bastian Le Russe and his meeting and getting to know Joan of Arc, theirs become a unique friendship that touches the man's heart more than he realize. After the death of Joan of Arc, he does as she ask by taking a piece of her with him to bury in a church in England. But before doing so, he is forced to marry Lady Gisella le Bec,, which neither of them wanted to do, yet they do. This story is how they came together to do this important mission, having to be careful that they are not found out doing so. This is a beautiful story that moved me to no ends. Once
again Kathryn does an outstanding job in keeping you turning pages to the end. You will not be disappointed in this story. A must read in my opinion.
l have read these out of order and agree they can be read in any order. This one for some reason touched my heart. I am not sure if it is because of the Joan of Arc theme (only a part). But, it was an interesting story line and I because engaged with the H mission.

The beginning of the relationship between the H and h was enjoyable and seemed how people would react put in the same situation. The lovemaking is within marriage and only once and very mildly described. Their struggles seemed real and when there was miscommunication, it was over quickly. Not like some author's who draw it out so long, you want to stop reading.

The story of the young King added sadness and another layer to this story.

We do get HEA, many twists and some suspense thrown in, a wonderful epilogue that brought a smile to my face. I recommend this whole series, but especially this one. As I said can be a stand alone. I am not going into the premise of the story, as many have explained it, just what you will get out of reading it. (ljb)
This was classic Le Veque throughout. It kept me enthralled during my entire time reading it. Bastian de Russe's bloodlines were impeccable. No other knight had so much reverence throughout his family line. The greatest of knight's ran through his veins.

Giselle Le Bec came from a well respected line of knights herself. Those bloodlines were not as extensive as Bastian's, but extremely honorable in their own right. Having to wed a man who has had rumors running rampant about himself and not truly knowing if she should believe them.

A knight's honor and code is his bond, and Bastian did not disappoint. He upheld his honor and code no matter what. It was so admirable to witness this through the words of this magnificent author, who painted a vivid picture of the story of The Beast. The author brought forth past noble knights, which just amplified the greatness of this story that was told in grand Le Veque fashion.

You must pick this story up. It is fascinating on it's own, but if you have read her past stories, it will come to mean even more. There is such angst in the story, but also love and humor that will keep you turning the pages to find out its ending.

If I could give this more than 5 Stars, I would without hesitation. Kathryn Le Veque has told a magnificent story of the grandest of knights.
